How I Work
I sing and play a classic Gibson S.G electric guitar. My backing is all on Sony Mini-disc. I find this combination brilliant and have 128 minutes of instantly accessible music at any one time.
There are no stops between songs unless I choose. If people are dancing the last thing they want is to wait for the musician to get organized.
I can change the order of songs at any time. People appreciate this as I can often meet their ‘requests’ quite quickly. I have additional microphones for people to join in if they wish.
I normally play for 45 minutes and have a 10-15 minute break. This depends on the function. I put on background or dance music during the break, again depending on the function.
My sound system is 250w / side. (Plenty of PEAVY power if needed.) I have my own lighting.
Lastly. I like to arrive at the venue 60 minutes prior to starting time to set up and do a sound check.
